How We Started
Sophie. From all-inclusive holidays to wild camping, to overlanding in a pick-up truck.
Why It Started
This isn’t something we just decided to try one day. It started with a moment where I thought: Is this it? After hard work — the hospital, it felt like I’d already peaked — while I just turned thirty. And yet, I still hadn’t really gone wild camping — properly.
What We Realized
But Norway was expensive. And holidays are costly — in both time and money. So I felt stuck with what felt safe: sun, sea, and a buffet. Until one day I thought: fuck it! We grabbed our credit card, raided Decathlon, and just went. Two weeks. Wild camping in our Nissan Navara.
What Changed
And somewhere between the mountains and the silence, it started. Our love for simplicity, freedom and off-grid living. I remember that I said back then: “Those people with those converted cars are cazy. Why would anyone need and spend all that?”
One Trip Became Another
And little by little, our own car started looking suspiciously like one of those cars. Not because we planned it that way, but because every trip taught us that we actually needed. We travelled further, stayed longer and became a little more self-reliant each time. Travelling stopped being something we escaped to and became tomething we build our life around.
What We Live By
We don’t need to know exactly where we’re going. We just want the freedom to find out. Prepared enough to go further. Flexible enough to change direction.
